Tyrone Thompson also known as "Tee Football" or "Tee Footie," of Harrisburg, died at the scene of the crash in the area of North 17th and Regina streets around 2:30 a.m., according to his family.
When police arrived at the scene of the crash they found two vehicles had collided at the intersection.
"The initial investigation indicates that the one vehicle was traveling north on 17th Street, while the other vehicle was traveling east on Regina Street. The collision caused the vehicle traveling north on 17th Street to be rolled onto it's side," police say.
"All of the occupants of the vehicle traveling east on Regina Street fled from their vehicle, and the scene, prior to police arrival," police state in the release.
No information on the people who fled has been released by officials.

Tee Footie's friends and family are already sharing about their loss on social media.
He was a Harrisburg High School graduate who is remembered as a beloved brother and "a great man who loves music and just dancing," one mourner posted on Facebook.
Tee Footie is known to have once performed with Earth, Wind, and Fire, according to his family.
"He was an avid and competitive chess player. He was known for his well-coordinated outfits and had many team jerseys. His love for music was shared with the world as he was a part of several bands to include 21st Century and Positive Force. You could often find Tee in the DJ booth spinning for parties and functions. He always knew the latest line dances and would be quick to correct your steps. He had a true love for Jazz and also spent much of his time attending live concerts with family and would often make his way backstage to meet the artists and crew. He was the life of the party. Tee’s infectious personality will truly be missed but the family is comforted by knowing that he truly lived life to the fullest each and every day," his family wrote in his obituary.
He is survived by his parents Joan Bailey (Stanley) and William Thompson (Estelle); children, RetoshaJuett (Timothy), Eric Thompson (Lucy), Avery Thompson, and Stanley Thompson; grandchildren, Adriana, Zanayah, Aireq, Ziare, Adrian, and Timia; siblings, Charlene Eubanks (Harold), Kasey Diaz (Kevin), Adrienne Brooks, Lance Thompson, Rik Thompson (Marty), Rokki Thompson (Janet), Tony Bond (Ronnie), Louie Negron (Cindy), and sister-in-law, Donis Thompson; aunts, Bertha Farley, Yvonne Bass and uncle, Albert Thompson (Patricia), as well as extended family, according to his obituary.
A visitation was was held at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 2701 N. 3rd St., Harrisburg, PA 17110 on Saturday, August 6th at 12:30 p.m., as detailed in his obituary. His final resting place was not publicly shared.
The Harrisburg Bureau of Police Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene, and is currently investigating this deadly crash.
